Unit 1: Myths and Legends
Everyone loves a good story. This was also true in ancient times. The Greeks, Romans, Egyptians and North and South American civilizations all had their own myths and legends relating to the creation of the world, man’s discovery of fire or any other phenomena which they could not otherwise explain. In this unit, students will discover five different myths and legends from the ancient world of Egypt, Greece and Rome, as well as that of the Aztec and Apaches. Finally, for evaluation purposes, students will read a text about Pandora’s box.
